Terms & Conditions
Payment Methods

For purchases through the webshop we accept most major credit cards through our secure server. Please note that although this is a Paypal server, you do NOT need a paypal account in order to make a payment. Just proceed through the checkout procedure as with other sites as per normal. We also accept direct payments from Paypal accounts for those that have them, along with cheques to the address on the contacts page made payable to C.J.Munn with your name, address and details of order on the back of the cheque. By ordering goods online, you are entering into a legally binding contract. This does not affect your consumer rights.

For commissioning lifecasts at our studio, a 50% deposit by either cheque or postal order is required in advance of the appointment date to secure the booking, and the balance is payable either in one final payment or in installments of your preference as long as the final balance is cleared on the day of collection. Payments can be made by cash or cheque for lifecasting appointments. We do not currently have credit card facilities away from the webshop.

The deposit is non-refundable in the event of absolute cancellation, but if you need to change the date or time of your appointment or transfer the balance towards a different kind of casting then this is perfectly acceptable as long as you let us know as soon as possible.

All prices are listed in GB pounds and are subject to change at any time. For cheque payments, we reserve the right to clear cheques before shipping your item.

For private life casting commissions, the products remain our property until payment is made in full. The copyright of the piece, along with the right to make and sell further copies, or use images of the piece continues to remain the property of Rockabelly Lifecasts at all times unless otherwise negotiated at the time of booking/payment. For commissions where a silicone mould is made of the plaster original at the client's request, we will retain this mould for one year in case the client wishes for further copies to be made, and longer by arrangement.

Delivery of Purchases

We aim to ship all kits within 7 days of purchase, and will do our best to accomodate rush jobs where a kit is needed more urgently, wherever possible, usually at no extra cost. The free delivery offer on kits does not apply to bulk orders, and is only available to mainland UK. For other destinations, please contact us for a postage cost quote before making your purchase. The free delivery offer applies only to kits and gift vouchers and not other items sold in the web shop.

The delivery date of other items such as limited edition sculptures or commissioned items will vary depending on the piece, location of client, time of material cure, complexity, and time of year. We advise people to book 8-12 weeks ahead of any firm deadline such as a birthday or Christmas to avoid disappointment. Although we have never missed an agreed deadline and will always endeavour to meet your requested delivery date by any means possible, Rockabelly Lifecasts cannot be held liable for any lateness caused by illness, acts of God, or other unavoidable events or crisis. Our clients' happiness and satisfaction is of paramount importance, however, so any agreed deadline will be taken extremely seriously.

Cancellation & Returns

All private commissions are a bespoke service and therefore cancellation will result in the client forfeiting their deposit to cover material expenses and the artist's time. Returns are only accepted if there is a significant flaw, in which case we will offer to repair the flaw and if that proves unsatisfactory, repeat the cast if possible or offer a full or partial refund depending on circumstances. (Please note that minor flaws such as air bubbles or variations in colour of materials are a natural part of lifecasting and will not be regarded as legitimate reasons for return).

You have the right to cancel your kit order within 7 days of purchase by emailing or phoning. Rockabelly Lifecasts reserves the right to charge a postal/administration fee for any kits that have already been sent in this time. Refunds will only be given where the kit is returned unopened with the seal unbroken on the casting box. This is because the kits contain air and date sensitive materials which may be un-resaleable if the kit has been opened and the contents exposed to air or moisture. This does not affect your statutory rights should there be a fault with the kit in any way. You may return any delivered kit products you have purchased within 7 working days of delivery for any reason (including if you simply change your mind) as long as the security tag on the box has not been broken. To do so you must notify us in writing via email or post within 7 working days of delivery. If you are returning a product for any reason, except damage or manufacturer defect, you must pay the costs of returning the products to us or our suppliers and we advise you to do this by a registered/trackable means of posting.

Care must be taken to ensure the returned products are packed well to avoid damage or loss of parts in transit. Products returned which cannot be re-sold as new due to damage or wear and tear may be subject to a reduction in the refund given.

In the unlikely event your product cannot be shipped within the aforementioned time, we will contact you by email to ask if you wish to go ahead with the purchase or to cancel. Please make sure that your email address used to pay with (via Paypal) is one that you check regularly. If we need to contact you about re-delivery by courier, and cannot, you may be liable for an additional postage/administration fee if the item is returned to us undelivered/uncollected from the depot.

Redeeming Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers can be put towards the cost of any casting and not just the type of casting labelled on the gift voucher. They cannot, however, be used in the webshop or in exchange for kits or other off-the-peg products.

If you receive a gift voucher it should contain details of who sent you the voucher, along with a unique redemption code, which you will need to quote when booking your casting session and then hand over when making your final payment. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from time of purchase, so please check the date on the back of your voucher to make sure you don't forget to use it while it is valid.

Care and Repair of Lifecasts

We are more than happy to advise on the care, storage and transportation of your lifecast sculptures at any time, although liability for their care transfers to you the client upon collection. We advise all our clients with wall-hung sculptures to test the stability of the walls that they plan to hang them from. It is always advisable to drill into brick or a wooden beam but NEVER into plaster board or other weak wall cladding. A deep hole with a sturdy and suitable wall plug is advised, into which a long and thick screw can be inserted. We advise clients to position the screw through one of the chain links on the back of the cast rather than balance the chain on top of a screw, so that even if accidentally knocked, your cast cannot fall from the screw. We advise against clients positioning casts above seating or beds where people may bump their heads (and your cast) as they get up suddenly.

Casts should be kept in a dry airy room like general living areas and NOT moist rooms like bathrooms or cellars or too near windows or heating appliances.

Cleaning of casts should just be dry dusting, and no polishes or astringent cleaners should be used.

If casts are dropped or damaged, we are more than happy to advise on repair by yourselves, or you can return the cast to us for a quotation.
